A Moment of Absurdity

After a show with The Last Bandoleros at the Wolftrap in Vienna VA, the guys and I made our way to the merch booth to meet some fans as usual.

I eventually come across Kristin; a person I first met on the Sting tour. After a short chat, Kristin asks for a last second photo. I look around to see most of the crowd occupied with the other band members indicating I had a bit of time to spare. We pose as her friends immediately point out the coat check-in closet behind us. Kristin and her friend's heads are on a swivel as they all search for a better backdrop.⁣

A ton of suggestions are spoken at the same time: "How about by the door?!" "How about this wall?!" "This open area has the stage in the background!" From my perspective, it was overwhelming in the most comedic way as I violently turned my head back and forth to see all the proposed spots. Kristin found a stationary wooden wall with pretty good lighting. "Here we go, Percy. This is perfect!", she proclaimed.⁣

In a moment of absurdity, I decided to continue the search in a silly way. I placed my elbows against my torso and hung my wrists mimicking a Tyrannosaurus Rex. I rotate and prance to my left saying, "How 'bout here?! How 'bout here?!" I turn to the right and do the same ridiculous prance with T-Rex arms repeating, "How 'bout here?! How 'bout here?!"⁣

I go on as the few initial chuckles turn into a roar of laughter. However, Kristin is still trying to get my attention oblivious to my tomfoolery. She starts bobbing up and down with her arm extended outward pointing towards her wall saying, "No! Over here! Right here! Percy?! Over here!"⁣

I smile and make my way to her as I see the realization come across her face. We both break out into laughter. Kristin's friend needed a moment before snapping the photo as she was bent over holding her stomach with her eyes shut in hysterics. We took this photo before saying goodbye.⁣

I'm not sure if this story comes off as funny as it was to actually be there, but I thought I'd share it anyway.
